We have been busy!

Well everyone said that time flies once you have a child, but to be honest I didn't really believe them until now, Hadley is 8 months old and I have not updated my blog in 6 months.  So, Just to catch everyone up, here is what the Hanchett family has been up to...
In December ski season started, and yes, I coached this past season.  Every weekend we would drag Hadley up to White Pass really early in the morning (so we could get the prime spot in the lodge) and set up Camp Hanchett.  I made a traveling bed for Hadley to sleep and hang out in that fit perfectly on top of one of the tables, it worked unbelievably well.  Then I would head out on the hill leaving Hadley with her dad, (the most awesome husband any one could have).  Let's just say that for the first month or so, it was good thing that the lodge is a loud place, because Hadley was not so happy about her food source not being there when she wanted it. At the end of December we took our first long road trip as a family and went to Logan for Christmas, and Hadley did fairly well, much better than expected and it was great to see Brian's Family and have a chance for them all to get to spend time with the baby.

January brought on a whole new set of challenges,  having a baby and coaching ski racing while traveling to away races. Just as we were getting in to a routine we had to travel to Crystal Mountain for a weekend race and to our great surprise Hadley did pretty good and the best part is, I took her on the hill with me for the first time on her 4 month birthday. I put her in the baby bjorn (the best purchase ever) facing inward and took her up the hill, she cried at first when we got on the lift but then she quickly got comfortable and slept the whole time.  The very next day we took our second plane ride with the baby, and headed to Steamboat for a family vacation with my family.  It was an amazing week with perfect weather and I was able to get Hadley back on the hill to do a bit more skiing. We had an awesome time, and we were sad to leave. During this trip Hadley officially learned to roll over.
February- Let's just say my mom loves me,  on my request Debma left her busy life at home to come back out here to help Brian and I with Hadley while I had two 3 day weekends of back to back of coaching. First to Oregon and then to Crystal Mountain, during that time my mom helped me kick off a trial run of making and selling The Neckling (a neck type gaiter that can be worn as a head band).  It was an added bonus that she was here on my 30th Birthday. Hadley absolutely loves her Debma and was very sad and fussy when she left. However, Hadley discovered her laugh this month and seems to laugh for Dad more than mom.

March brings the close to ski season which in December seemed forever away.  We spent most of March at home with only one long weekend away for skiing the Championships Event where my team had a very successful weekend and one trip to the West side to check out Gig Harbor. By this point Hadley had become quite the little traveler and is able to balance in the sitting position without any help.
At the beginning of April, Brian and I got super busy trying to kick off DMH Custom Designs with our one signature product, the Neckling.  Hopefully it will take off, if not this season by next year.  We decide that with ski season over there was no time like the present, so we headed out for a two and a half week road tour through Utah and Wyoming to visit our families.  Hadley continues to change every day with the biggest strides on the trip...
*She is eating solids fairly well and is good about trying new things.
*She is really getting good about pooping on her baby potty. (and reading on the potty?)
*She cut her first two teeth during the last two days in Laramie, and on the drive back to Utah she found that he can babble, and did so for a good couple of hours straight.
*She loves to stand in the driver seat and pretend to drive (assisted of course)
*She is really interacting with everyone and loves all of her Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
I really feel that all the time traveling being around so many people has helped her to adapt quickly to her surroundings.
* Her favorite thing to babble is mamamamamamama, and sometimes I think she really is calling for me.
We finished the month by going to a Sounders Game in Seattle (Thanks White Pass Ski Team) Hadley's first live sporting event, she slept through most of it.

May has flown by especially fast and we have been at home the whole month so far.  Watching Hadley change has become so much fun and now she is officially a hand full,
*She started crawling on May 11 and on May 12 she discovered that if she can crawl over to certain objects then she can pull herself to standing, which is what she does most of the day.
*She definitely is calling me mama, and when I leave the room she will call it out like she is telling me to come back, very cute.
*She can feed herself little veggie puffs and loves them, her favorite food is either oatmeal or sweet potato's.
*She is doing great with the potty training, in two months we have had only 4 poopy diapers and she is peeing whenever I put her on her potty. I am hoping this will continue.
*She now will take objects and move them from one place to the other, her favorite is to take DVD's off the shelves one at a time and toss them around.
No that is not a beard my daughter is growing, it is the mess a fruit leather makes.
Camping in a dress? No, these are just  both presents from Grandma and Grandpa Hanchett,  Hadley loves her tent and looks so cute in her Easter Dress.  Grocery Shopping is easy with the awesome Dragon Cart Caddy that Debma made, and Hadley is finally big enough to use it.

As for me I am so excited about being a mom and really love it, even though I am exhausted a lot of the time. Brian helps me with Hadley so much and I am very grateful.  Now that I am 30 things don't seem at all different.  I started a business which I have no idea how it will go, but I am hopeful.  I get to continue to coach ski racing and be involved in the sport I love and I now have the most important role, being a mother and a wife and hopefully a good one.

There are a few videos below that I hope everyone will enjoy, however please disregard my condition it seems that every time Hadley will cooperated with us shooting video of her I am in shambles and not looking my best.
